It is wrong to love a game this much especially when it's such a simple game on such a very expensive piece of hardware but love it I do. If the game weren't so addictive I'd have more time to worry about the fact that the best game on the system was a £5 download from a very empty PSN store.
I lost about 2 hours to this yesterday and still didn't beat the level I was stuck on. I also don't be able to get above 5.8 million points but see people up into the 13 million mark. I wonder what I'm doing wrong ...
... are a pain :) My PS3 arrived yesterday and it was with a reasonable amount of excitement that I set it all up and prepared to do the system updates and make an online account. Weird shit that happened:
1. System update of 100mb only managed 1% in over 5 mins downloading on my nice 24meg internet connection so I downloaded on my laptop to an SD card - took 2 mins, and popped it into the system.
"No update found"
Weird, thinks I. Then I read that the update can't just be popped onto the card. It has to be 2 folders deep in PS3/UPDATE and that the second folder name is case sensitive?! This thing has 7 processor cores and we live in the 21st century?! It costs $600! :)
2. When creating an online account for my machine every time I tried a user name that was already taken or made a mistake I would just lose my connection to the server and have to wait at least 15 mins before it would work again. It was very slow connecting too.
3. An SD card full of pictures shows up as empty when inserted into the machine. Presumably because it has to be in some folder on the card - sigh :)
On the good side, however, games are pretty, Blu Ray is fine and while the load times are a little slow it is whisper quiet compared to the 360. I also quite like the controller. Very light. Only a shame they will make me buy a new one soon which rumbles. Overall I am pleased with it, the network setup was pretty quick even if once it was on the network getting it to do anything was painful.
Anyone else out there had similar experiences?
